Your Dream Bohemian Home

January 27th, 2014 by Debbie

Bohemian interiors are coming in to fashion in full force this spring. Light, floaty fabric and mis-matched textures and patterns are all the rage, and if you’re looking to brighten up your home on these dark January days, now’s the time to get the look.

I’ve always loved a bohemian style in a home, because there’s no uniform to it. You can throw in your own knick knacks and personal touches without sticking to a formula. I’ve collected a few of my favourite examples of this wonderful, spontaneous style. I hope it inspires you to boho up your home!

Warehouse Bohemian

Throw in a sign off the street, a couple of house plants and strip the paint off the wall to reveal the brick. This room is achingly stylish and captures the spirit of boho – completely effortless. The rug finishes off the look and has proably been bought from a boot sale or an antique shop. Flawless.

Bare Bohemian

Bohemian doesn’t mean you have to clutter up your home. The whole idea is to create a relaxed, laid-back space that is totally personalised to your taste. This plain, simple room is bright and bare, yet still carries the bohemian look. The statement chandelier adds an effortless decadence to an other wise modest interior. I love the collection of vintage handbags on the cupboard and the cluster of photos in the left corner.

Arthouse Bohemian

The beautiful art on the walls of this home bring a sense of drama to the space. I adore the vintage day bed and mis-matched furniture around the room. But most of all I love that beautiful art canvas. It would be a shame if it was framed, as without a frame it looks spontaneous and as though it has just been finished.

Vanessa Arbuthnott has a beautiful collection called ‘New Bohemian’.

Her gorgeous fabric is the perfect place to start if you’d like to boho up your home. Did you know The Loom and Last can make blinds and curtains out of any fabric? And we can order it in for you too. Just saying…
