5 crafty ideas for fabric

February 11th, 2014 by Debbie

Now that you’ve got your ready made curtains sorted, it’s time to sort out the rest of your life. I’m starting with my ridiculous fabric collection.

I’ve managed to amass a huge amount of fabric over the years – from swatches to rolls – and I had big dreams for every scrap. Now that the evenings are getting longer (it’s just about light at 5:30!) I’ve had the energy boost I’ve been waiting for. Spring is round the corner and it won’t catch me off guard.

This post is dedicated to inspiring you to make use of your excess fabric, buttons and other crafty bits and bobs that are gathering dust in the corner. I’m going to try at least one before spring!

 Patchwork cushions

Although my fabric collection is a mess, there are some beautiful colours and patterns in there that complement each other perfectly. It’s the perfect way to fill your time on a rainy Sunday, and it’ll get you prepared for spring.

Make your own teepee

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last year, you’ll know by now that teepees are very cool. If you have a spare corner going in your living room, fill it with a teepee and it’ll look awesome. Not only that, but they’re easy to make and fun too. You can use bright, patterned fabric to add a quirky edge, or keep it sleek with plain colours. Here’s how…
